ABOUT US

We want to be the bridge needed to bring a Dove Recovery House for Women to Bartholomew County. In order to do that, we need to provide Dove access to a NARR Level IV capable recovery house and help them financially while they are applying for their NARR certification.

bridge to dove’s mission

TO SECURE ALL THAT IS NECESSARY FOR DOVE RECOVERY HOUSE FOR WOMEN TO OPEN A 15 BED NARR LEVEL IV RECOVERY RESIDENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY.

to accomplish this, we engage with

MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS

DOVE HOUSE - INDIANAPOLIS

Dove Recovery House For Women is based out of Indianapolis and currently has another remote location in Jasper, Indiana. We are excited to have them bring their evidence based, best practice programming to Bartholomew County. Dove House will lease our building and they will handle funding for programming, staffing and operations indefinitely. Dove House was targeted as our local programming partner because they provide low cost/no cost recovery options for women, they have a high success rate, and they are rapidly becoming the benchmark for Level IV care for women in the State of Indiana

FUTURE CLIENTS & STAFF

At the end the day, we want a facility that meets the needs of the clients and staff who will use it. As part of our design process we will actively include feedback from current Dove House clients and staff (in Jasper, Indianapolis or both!) and incorporate their lived experience into the layout of the Columbus Facility.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT

In February 2023, the County Council voted to allocate $300,000 which was 100% of their 2022 and 2023 opioid settlement funds (restricted and unrestricted) to be used as matching funds for the state opioid grant process.

ESKENAZI SCHOOL OF ART J. IRWIN MILLER ARCHITECTURE PROGRAM

We consulted with students and staff in the J. Irwin Miller Architecture program as our project was shaping up. They also helped us with a mock up model to show the community.

PRIVATE FUNDERS

Projects like this don't happen without public and private partnerships. We want to thank all of our donors for their support - no matter the amount. Every dollar helps bring us closer to our goal of having Dove House open in Bartholomew County.

COMMUNITY MEMBERS

We know that all people care about their neighborhood and we want the Dove House in Columbus to be good neighbors. We will make sure neighbors nearby meet the Dove House CEO, understand the mission of Dove House, and learn how it will operate. In other Dove communities the neighbors have been happy to have Dove nearby and often enjoy getting to know "The Doves " as they integrate back into the community and volunteer locally. We will strive to ensure the Dove facility design and operations compliment a neighborhood.

INDIANA FAMILY AND SOCIAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION’S DIVISION OF MENTAL HEALTH

As part of the National Opioid Settlement, DMHA, in partnership with the Office of Governor Eric J. Holcomb, awarded a total of $19 million in one-time funding to support evidence-based prevention, treatment, recovery and harm reduction services, expand the behavioral health workforce and implement other services and initiatives across the state, to 30 local units of government, service providers, and community organizations.

Bridge To Dove House was awarded $324,000 in funding through this grant process in July 2023. Funding will be used in 2023 and 2024 to pay for a portion of construction costs to build a facility and furnishings for clients. We are delighted to be a part of this esteemed group of grant awardees.

ALLIANCE FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE (ASAP)

ASAP supports the Bridge to Dove Project as a critically needed component of the prevention and recovery system for Bartholomew and surrounding counties. We work closely with ASAP on a number of issues and teams. We are a part of the Bartholomew County Suicide and Overdose Fatality Review (SOFR) Team and participate in the Community Recovery Residence Working Group. We look forward to continuing to work with ASAP even after Dove House officially opens here locally.
